Competencias digitales en la enseñanza-aprendizaje del inglés en bachillerato

The use of technology in the educational process implies that teachers obtain technical and teaching skills for effective implementation. This research seeks to understand the digital skills used by English teachers in the teaching-learning process of a foreign language at high school level. To address this issue, qualitative methodology and educational ethnography were used to understand the phenomenon from the perspective of the actors, teachers and students. Among the key findings, it was found that despite the use of technology (projector and computer) most teachers still use the traditional method where the teacher is the transmitter of knowledge and the student is a mere passive recipient. Digital skills include technical and pedagogical use of ICT in education and training teachers with these skills contributes to improve the teachinglearning process.
El uso de la tecnología en el proceso educativo implica que los docentes obtengan conocimientos técnicos y didácticos para su implementación efectiva. La presente investigación busca entender las competencias digitales que utilizan docentes de inglés en el proceso enseñanza-aprendizaje de esta lengua extranjera a nivel medio superior. A fin de abordar esta cuestión se utilizó la metodología cualitativa y más específicamente la etnografía educativa para entender el fenómeno en cuestión desde la perspectiva de los actores, docentes y estudiantes. Entre los principales hallazgos se encontró que a pesar del uso de la tecnología (proyector y computadora) en su mayoría los profesores siguen utilizando la metodología tradicional donde el docente es transmisor de conocimiento y el estudiante es mero receptor pasivo. Las competencias digitales incluyen conocimientos técnicos y pedagógicos del uso de las TIC en la educación, y capacitar a los docentes con dichas competencias contribuye a mejorar el proceso-enseñanza aprendizaje.
