    • Abstract:
      Purpose: Examine the role of the circular economy in the steel sector, highlighting trends and challenges faced in its transition to more sustainable practices. Methodology/approach: This research is centered on a qualitative analysis of the steel production chain in Brazil. Information was gathered using in-depth interviews and was examined through an abductive approach involving purposive sampling. Originality/relevance: This study highlights the main trends, examines the challenges, and outlines the best practices within the Brazilian industry steel sector, framed within the context of the circular economy. Key findings: The results show that Brazil is aligned with global sustainability and circularity trends in the steel industry, albeit with particular challenges. Theoretical/methodological contributions: The findings of this investigation are intended to establish a basis for mapping out the trends in Brazil's steel industry by 2035.  
      Objetivo: Examinar o papel da economia circular no setor do aço, destacando as tendências e os desafios enfrentados em sua transição para práticas mais sustentáveis. Metodologia/abordagem: Trata-se de uma investigação qualitativa centrada na cadeia de produção do aço no Brasil. Os dados foram coletados mediante entrevistas em profundidade e analisados a partir de uma abordagem abdutiva, com amostragem proposital. Originalidade/relevância: Nesta pesquisa são indicadas as principais tendências, os desafios e as boas práticas do setor siderúrgico brasileiro, tendo em vista o conceito de economia circular. Principais conclusões: Os resultados mostram que o Brasil está alinhado com as tendências globais de sustentabilidade e de circularidade na cadeia do aço, porém com desafios particulares Contribuições teóricas/metodológicas: As descobertas desta investigação pretendem servir de fundamento para traçar um panorama das tendências para 2035 no setor do aço no Brasil.
