- Abstract:
This thesis focuses on the development and evaluation of a customized artificial intelligence chatbot for teaching chemistry, aiming to enhance critical thinking, information validation, and digital literacy. The research highlights the need for new educational technologies that meet the demands of contemporary educational realities, fostering student engagement and promoting lifelong learning. The chatbot was designed and tailored using generative artificial intelligence techniques to support students in studying chemistry and guiding them in scientific methodology. The evaluation of the application was conducted through a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods, including interviews, questionnaires, and analysis of student worksheets. The findings indicate that the chatbot significantly improved students' ability to evaluate information and think critically while positively influencing their attitude toward technology and learning. Additionally, participating educators recognized the tool's value in supporting the teaching process, despite the need for further improvements in its adaptability. The research offers significant recommendations for integrating artificial intelligence into education, highlighting both its potential and limitations, and lays the groundwork for the future development of tools that enhance active participation and student autonomy.
