      The Southwest Power Pool's board of directors has approved NextEra Energy Transmission Southwest, LLC to build the Crossroads-Hobbs-Roadrunner transmission project in New Mexico. The project will consist of 90.5-mile and 44.5-mile, 345-kilovolt lines connecting the Crossroads, Hobbs, and Roadrunner substations. The estimated cost of construction is $291.6 million, and the project is expected to be completed in 2026. Southwestern Public Service Company has been approved as the alternate builder. This project was evaluated through a competitive transmission owner selection process mandated by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission's Order No. 1000. [Extracted from the article]
