      The article posits the existence, from about mid-twentieth century to now, than three generations of textbooks that address the historical period known as "La Violencia" in Colombia. It also examines textbooks and narratives relating to the political situation and characteristics determinants of the publishing industry, in the way it is hidden, minimized, or denied the confrontation violent of the midcentury. At the same time, this article questions the manner in which "La Violencia" is portrayed in textbooks of political formation and in terms of political culture. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

      El artículo postula la existencia, desde aproximadamente mediados de siglo xx hasta ahora, de tres generaciones de textos escolares conforme a la manera como es abordado en estos el período histórico conocido como La Violencia. Además, examina los manuales escolares y sus narrativas en relación con las coyunturas políticas y las características de la industria editorial como determinantes en la forma como es ocultada, minimizada, problematizada o negada la confrontación de mediados de siglo. Al mismo tiempo, se pregunta por la incidencia de la forma como es representada La Violencia en los libros de texto en la formación política de los escolares y en general, en términos de cultura política.
