      En este artículo analizamos los vínculos entre desigualdad y TIC. Para ello, a través de una metodología cualitativa, estudiamos en los procesos de apropiación de computadoras e Internet de jóvenes de sectores populares, en el contexto de implementación del Programa Conectar Igualdad (PCI).A partir de la reconstrucción de los procesos de apropiación, identificamos transformaciones en las condiciones de acceso a partir de la compra de dispositivos y/o de la llegada del PCI. A su vez, recuperamos las representaciones sobre la computadora e Internet, entre la que se destaca el "estar siempre actualizado"; y los usos más significativos para los jóvenes, ligados a la comunicación, el entretenimiento y la búsqueda de información. Por último, consideramos que a partir de la apropiación de las TIC se han abierto nuevas posibilidades de elección y gestión de diversas dimensiones de la vida cotidiana que contribuyen a aliviar las desigualdades materiales y simbólicas.
      This paper aims to explore the connection between ict and inequality among working class teenagers. From a qualitative perspective we study how teenagers have engaged with Internet and computers along their lives. Also, we analyze how Programa Conectar Igualdad and access to computers and Internet at different places (at home, at school or at cyber bars) have shaped their experience with ict. Our findings suggest that major transformations in the way teenagers engage with ict have occurred when having a computer and Internet connection at home. Furthermore, we also have found that young people tend to link ict with the idea of being "always connected" and that their most meaningful uses are related to entertainment, communication and information searching. Finally, we consider that ict appropriation among working class teenagers has allowed them to manage their own lives and relationships in new and different ways and that it has contributed to let them feel less material and symbolically unequal.
