    • Abstract:
      The problem of quality training of the future math teacher at the main stage of his professional formation ‒ in the conditions of higher education institutions ‒ is raised. Emphasis is placed on one of the aspects those make up the key problematic issue: the development of the professional competence of the higher education applicant through full consideration of the continuity resource, including primary and elementary school in provision educational services to students regarding the quality mastery of mathematics. Attention is drawn to the aggravation of the problematic issue regarding the training of a new generation of maths teachers of basic secondary education, which takes into account the priorities of the New Ukrainian School, the desire for high-quality training of a teacher who is able to competently develop the child’s individuality, providing space for the freedom of choice of the field of activity. After all, it is the teacher who becomes the «agent of changes in the modern educational space» in the conditions of the implementation of the concept of the New Ukrainian School. In addition, it is about the importance of taking into account that the educational process is based on the partnership between the student, teacher and parents, the continuity of educational links in the acquisition of mathematical competence by the student. As a result of the analysis of the acquired results of the pedagogical discourse, clarifications are made the content of some debatable aspects related to the scientific status of the concepts «novation» and «innovation», «competence» and «competency». It was established that the term competence is defined as a good knowledge of something, the scope of a person’s powers; competency, on the other hand, reproduces the degree of possession of the relevant competence, demonstrates a person’s ability to act and demonstrate it in practice.
