Abstract: https://doi.org/10.6084/m9.figshare.25055654.v1 Abstract: This paper assesses the effects of accessibility of energy on Subjective Well-Being (SWB). Using a sample of 98 developing countries (DCs), we specify and estimate a panel data model using the Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) and Generalized Method of Moments (GMM) in System over the period 2005-2020. Our results show that the accessibility of total electric power in urban and rural areas significantly improves subjective well-being. We suggest a quantitative and qualitative improvement of the energy supply for better well-being.This article appeared in volume 48, number 1 of the Journal of Energy and Development : Jacques Simon Song, Georges Ngnouwal Eloundou, and Jocelyne Ayang Mimbang, “Is Access to Electricity a Relevant Determinant of Subjective Well-being in Developing Countries?” The Journal of Energy and Development , vol. 48, no. 1, pp. 23–50. ...
