La minería es una actividad considerada potencial económico por su alta influencia en el mundo. Por ello, el objetivo del trabajo fue brindar una sinopsis del sector y su desarrollo a nivel global, continental (América Latina) y nacional (Colombia), donde, a su vez, a este último, se le brindó prioridad en cuanto al comportamiento productivo, económico y ambiental durante la última década. La información está dada por la recopilación de datos de investigaciones previas y estadísticas de entidades oficiales.Palabras clave:minería; impacto; pasivos ambientales; economía AbstractMining is an activity considered as economic potential due to its high influence in the world. For this reason, the objective of this article was to provide a synopsis of the development of the sector at the global, continental (Latin America), and national (Colombia) levels, where in thum , for the latter, priority was given to the production and the economic and environmental behavior the last decade.
