    • Abstract:
DeepMind, a research division of Alphabet Inc., has made a significant advancement in artificial intelligence (AI) by developing a system called AlphaGeometry that can solve complex geometry theorems better than previous computer programs. This breakthrough demonstrates the ability of AI to apply reasoning and planning to tasks, which is crucial for the development of artificial general intelligence (AGI). DeepMind created its own dataset of 100 million unique examples of geometric constructs to train AlphaGeometry, as there is not enough available data for AI systems to learn on their own. While the system is not immediately incorporated into Google's AI model Gemini, it could potentially be used as a mathematics tutor in the future. DeepMind has decided to open-source AlphaGeometry, making the code and model freely available to others. [Extracted from the article]
